After some time researching in the Labs, there is $AMINO out there to start the pandemic.
Phase 2 is incoming
By spending $AMINO, viruses can be synthesised .
They will have 6 different random traits:
Virulence: It helps the virus to spread on healthy population. A virulent virus will infect large parts of the population quickly.
Severity: How severe the disease is, the higher the more difficult/longer is for the population to become healthy again.
Purity: This trait affects to the rewards a virus earns from infecting citadels.
Mortality: Once population is infected, this trait will affect to how fatal the consequences are. In some cases it is better to maintain as much population infected as possible, in others it is better to be fatal.
Resistance: How this virus resist other viruses attacks. A virus goal is always to remain the dominant variant
Incubation: The longer the virus stays undetected the better
The values of the traits fall between 0 and 100 interval, and the initial values will depend on the virus initial rarity.
Class-I (41% chances): Traits values range from 20 to 25.
Class-II (31% chances): Traits values range from 20 to 30.
Class-III (16% chances): Traits values range from 25 to 40.
Class-IV (11% chances): Traits values range from 30 to 50.
Class-V (1% chances): Traits values range from 50 to 60.
Now we have a virus with all its traits assigned. The traits values are not final since viruses can evolve as part of Phase 3.
Once all that is calculated, there are different body parts where cosmetic colours are applied:
Mouth
Eyes
Membrane
Texture
Body
Tail
The colours for each body part are randomly assigned from a predefined palette. This is cosmetic and it does not affect to the outcome of the game, but owning a good looking virus is priceless :).
There will be customisation of the viruses colours (dedicated post will follow).
